The Wall Street Journal reports that Industrial & Commercial Bank of China’s main office in Spain was raided after the bank was accused of sending funds to China without “checking their origin as required by law.”
It is alleged that criminal gangs, both Chinese and Spanish, used ICBC to “transfer money earned from smuggling, tax fraud and exploitative labor practices to China.”
